Nils Holgersson School is a free school with a cultural profile in Simrishamn. Here, 214 students from preschool to grade 9 attend, and we have a staff of around 40 dedicated employees. Since 1996, we have offered a creative and academic upbringing. The school is run as a parent cooperative.

Nils Holgersson School is looking for a dedicated and service-oriented kitchen assistant who can also cook when needed. In this role, you will be an important part of our kitchen team and contribute to creating a safe and pleasant dining experience for our students.

About the position

As a kitchen assistant, you will work closely with our kitchen team and be responsible for:

- Preparing and cooking simple dishes and assisting with cooking

- Preparing salads, vegetables, and accompaniments

- Assisting with plating and serving lunch

- Keeping the kitchen organized and clean

- Cleaning the kitchen according to routines, including surfaces, floors, and workstations

- Following hygiene procedures and safety regulations

- Contributing with a welcoming and positive attitude towards students and colleagues

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

- Has experience working in a kitchen, preferably in a large kitchen or restaurant

- Has good knowledge of cooking and food hygiene

- Is flexible, responsible, and enjoys a role with varied tasks

- Has a friendly demeanor and good teamwork skills

- Can handle physical work and a sometimes fast-paced environment

Employment form and scope

- Employment rate: 50-70%

- Working hours: to be discussed, but preliminarily as a basic schedule Mon-Wed, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

- Start date: By agreement

A valid extract from the criminal record (school) is required. You will order it yourself from the Police.
